NEW YORK, NY USA 11/06/2003
NEW YORK, Nov. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Thirteen-year-old Morgan Arons
is no stranger to the spotlight -- or lack of it. The petite
singer-songwriter, a WNBA talent contest finalist, came in
second in a N.Y. Liberty team sponsored sing-off, despite
performing for a crowd of over 14,000 on a dark stage with
limited sound.
Recognizing Morgan's unfazed polish in the face of a
technical mishap, the folks at Madison Square Garden have
generously given the plucky teen talent center arena -- and
a spotlight -- on Saturday, November 22nd. She'll sing her
moving version of The Star Spangled Banner to open the Knicks
Vs. 76ers game. (Free mp3 music clips from Morgan's CD on

"Morgan is such an amazing talent," says Randall A.
Petrie, Esq., attorney for Stevie Wonder. "With that big,
beautiful voice, all-American good looks and surefire stage
presence, she's certainly a natural for Disney, Broadway and,
I'll bet, a major record label one day."
Morgan began her showbiz career early as a child super
model and voiceover talent, appearing in ads for Nabisco,
Dunkin Donuts, Nickelodeon, Hawaiian Tropic and others. In
her tweens, Morgan performed in regional musical theater,
and this year she recorded her first CD entitled "Morgan."
Morgan got a big boost from Jay Siegel, the legendary
lead singer for the 60's doo-wop group The Tokens. Best
known for his original recording of "The Lion Sleeps Tonight,"
Siegel was so taken with "this young skinny thing with such
a huge voice and an even bigger heart" that he and The Tokens
sang backup on Morgan's version of the song. "The Lion Sleeps
Tonight" is the leadoff single of her "Morgan" CD.
Despite the demands of school, music lessons, recording
sessions and rehearsals, young Morgan spends time as an
activist-volunteer for animal rights. "Did you know that 98%
of motherless newborn kittens are euthanized? I donate a large
portion of my performance monies to a local no-kill animal
shelter," says Morgan. "So when I'm on stage I feel extra
good because I know that every time I perform the life of
an innocent cat or puppy is saved -- and that's the best
feeling in the world!"

If good things come to those who wait,
then Morgan Arons will have the time of her life later tonight.
Thats when the 13-year-old Mercer County teen will be performing in front of 19,000 screaming fans at
Madison Square Garden when she belts out her version of the Star Spangled Banner to launch the start of the
Knicks-76ers basketball game.
Of course Morgan said she wont be nervous because she
really doesnt personally know the 19000 fans who are expected to show up.
"I only get
nervous around friends I know because they can look right at me face to face," the petite teen said from
her home recently.
Not that this will be her first time in front of a crowd.
As an
up-and-coming singing sensation, the eighth-grader has already won numerous talent contests, and
even has a CD out on the Tower Records Web site (www.towerrecords.com) in which she sings several
of her favorite songs.
Morgan has also performed in several voice-overcommercials for Nabisco,
Dunkin Donuts, Nickelodeon and Hawaiian Tropic, says her mother, Kathryn Arons.
She hopes to eventually attend Julliard School of Music, or perhaps attend fashion school, but really
wants to perform in movies, she said.
Morgan got the opportunity to sing at the game by winning a WNBA talent contest in which she
sang "The Lion Sleeps Tonight."

Morgan Arons
Morgan Arons is ahead of
her time. At 13 years old, she's got an accomplished,
dazzling voice and she knows how to use it. Her CD, entitled "Morgan," is
available on the Tower Records music web site. You’ll find free download
music samples there, too. The CD features a mix of a few originals plus
covers of famous songs like Material Girl, The Lion Sleeps Tonight and
Girls Just Want to Have Fun. Need a holiday gift for your little sister
or cousin? Morgan’s way better than Hillary Duff, Mandy Moore or Kelly
Clarkson. Buy this album and pass it along. And hey, you’ll be helping
no kill animal shelters - part of the proceeds go to a local humane
society.

Morgan Arons in spotlight
By InsideHoops.com
November 17, 2003
Singing in the dark during a halftime competition at a basketball game? With the
spotlight not actually pointed at the performer? It's happened. And now the singer,
13-year-old Morgan Arons, gets a chance to shine at Madison Square Garden before a
Knicks game with the lights focused properly on her. Morgan, who has a CD out on the
Tower Records website, was in a WNBA singing contest in Madison Square Garden. But
a lighting problem during the contest resulted in a spotlight that wasn't on her
as she sang. Furthermore, while the competition was given the proper sound equiptment
to hear themselves sing, Morgan wasn't. Yet she's so ridiculously talented that in
order to make it up to her, Madison Square Garden is letting her sing before the
Knicks vs. Philadelphia 76ers matchup on November 22. Will Arons shine during this
performance as she can be expected to? Can she stand up to the pressure? Past
performances suggest she most certainly can.
